A 72 x 56 x 8.5mm group head gasket with external cuts, for Gaggia's newer commercial equipment, one of the most common wear items on any espresso machine, since it seals every single time a portafilter locks in.

• Replaces: for Gaggia home models, use G_55 (71 x 56 x 9mm) instead

INSTALLATION

An easy DIY task, most owners can swap this without a technician, just remove the retaining ring or screen, pop out the old gasket, and press the new one in.

PRO TIPS

• A hardened or leaking group gasket often shows up as a hissing sound or wet mess around the portafilter when it locks in, replace it before it starts spitting grounds and water sideways, since a leaking gasket also throws off pressure at the puck.
• Measure your old gasket before ordering (72 x 56 x 8.5mm here vs. 71 x 56 x 9mm for the home-model G_55), the dimensions are close enough that it's easy to grab the wrong one.
